SECOND WEEK OF THE EXERCISES

This Week's Presenter:  Ellie Flavin

Originally, I was a “Jersey girl”. I received a degree in Elementary Education from Elmira College and, while there, met my husband, Stu. We raised 3 children and lived for 35 years near Rochester, NY. It was there that I was introduced to, and fell in love with, the Spiritual Exercises.  I left teaching to devote time to this new passion (although I’d like to think that my love of teaching has carried over to the Exercises as I work with companions and pilgrims.) In 2005 we moved to Kennebunk, Maine, and with the help of two new friends, introduced the Exercises to Maine. The rest, as they say, is history! My other passions include adventure travel, spending time with my children and grandchildren, having coffee with friends, walking the beach, and getting down and dirty in my garden! God is in it all!!

Session 18 Public Ministry 2
Theme:  Jesus Public Ministry: Jesus heals and confronts unjust social structures.
Desire:  A deep felt knowledge of God become human for me so that I might love Jesus more, and follow his Spirit more closely.

“To be a Christian does not mean just going to church, or saying prayers. It means we follow the loving example Jesus gave us in all aspects of our lives. We have prayed with scriptures this past week which show us we are called to love radically. What might this look like in your life? Come and see!” Ellie
